Leave Me Alone

My good friend John is having an eye operation today to remove a cataract so I thought that as he’s a drummer and likes songs with a driving backbeat, he might enjoy this one?

This is a song about how my so-called friends and neighbours carry on. They’re pretty much OK as long as you ignore them and keep them at arm’s length. I really don’t understand what it is about people that they have to force their views down your throat.

Just leave me alone!

Don’t want no hassle and I don’t wanna feel no pain
Don’t knock me down ‘cos I can’t be bothered getting up again
I want some peace and I want some quiet
I wanna live my life my way – You wanna try it!
Leave me alone
Go on your way
And leave me alone
Leave me alone
I don’t need your crap
So leave me alone

Don’t park your car on my front lawn
Don’t make me wish that I’d never been born
I’m a simple fella and I know what I want
Don’t need no smart assed fella telling me I’m a cunt
Leave me alone
To live my life
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
Go on your way
Leave me alone

It’s not like I am hard to get along with
It’s really really really simple what I want
Don’t need no S O B giving me back stabbing
Gimme people who put it all up front
Leave me alone
It’s not asking much
To leave me alone
Please go away
Leave me in peace
Leave me alone

It’s not a big ask – it’s not a big demand
It don’t cost money to shake me by the hand
Peace and quiet and a hassle free life
To isolate me from the trouble and the strife
Leave me alone
Go on your way
And leave me alone
Leave me alone
I don’t need your crap
So leave me alone
Leave me alone
To live my life
Leave me alone
Disconnect the phone
Nobody’s home
Leave me alone
